To me, the most exciting part of history is the moment of connection that stretches through centuries, an ‘I do that too’ moment. My research into the Queen Elizabeth Virginal was not just a healthy dose of a historian’s curiosity, but a connection to a long-dead queen upon encountering the beautiful object. My name is Molly Gisbourne, a 2023 graduate of the V&A/RCA History of Design MA and now working in facilities at the Design Museum, this blog explores the Queen Elizabeth Virginal in the V&A collection.
