Hasler (1908-1989) was a typographer and graphic designer. His collection reflects his magpie tendencies and wide-ranging interests: it contains all kinds of printed and paper ephemera, from Victorian postcards to examples of work by big-name contemporaries such as Abram Games and Edward McKnight Kauffer. The collection also includes Hasler's own design work for various clients, including the Festival of Britain Typographic panel.
Potential applicants are invited to make themselves aware of the scope and content of the Hasler collection by making an appointment to visit the museum in the first instance (please email moda@mdx.ac.uk), and then to discuss their proposal with Professor Anne Massey, Director of Research in the School of Art & Design, Middlesex University (a.massey@mdx.ac.uk).
For more information about the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture in general, please see the website www.moda.mdx.ac.uk
