DHS membership 2024-25 update

The current DHS membership period is due to end on 31st July. From 1st August 2024 we will be offering annual membership at the below rates:

Changes in membership rates include:

- a reduction in student rates

- a non-journal membership option

- lower-priced options for those residing in countries and territories that DAC note are eligible to receive Official Development Assistance (ODA) - proof of address required

Benefits of DHS membership:

Journal of Design History: As a print/online member, you have access to our quarterly international, peer-reviewed journal published by Oxford University Press, as well as unlimited online access to the entire archive of Journal of Design History articles and reviews. To access, the Journal, please log in through the DHS membership page and click on the JDH logo button.

Awards: DHS members qualify for a series of grants and awards for research undertaken within the field of design history. In addition to our annual writing prize, awards are granted to both professionals and students for all stages of the research process from primary source research to dissemination.

Members Directory: As a member of the Society, you will have access to an international network of design historians and researchers through our new Members Directory. You will have the ability to create your own profile page and search the pages of others by location, research interests, keywords and more. This feature will be visible only to other logged in members. Newsletter: DHS members receive a member’s-only newsletter. Please also sign up to our general newsletter and news bulletin at the bottom of our home page, if you didn’t already do so during your membership sign-up.

Discounted Conference/Events Rates: Members receive generous discounted rates on fees at our annual conference and other Society events and affiliated publications and events.

Network: The DHS offers members professional networking opportunities within the field of the design history.

Voting: Be heard—as a member, you have voting rights on Society business and elections at the Annual General Meeting, which takes place at the annual conference.


Auto-renewals - If you opted for auto-renew when you signed up at the start of this year, your Membership fee will automatically be debited from your account at the rate above on or shortly after 1st August 2024.
