Statement about DHS membership for 2024

As of January 2024, the Design History Society will be taking back management of all individual memberships and Journal of Design History subscriptions. OUP will continue to manage institutional subscriptions to the Journal.

We are currently in the process of redesigning our website in order that we can take payments and manage membership data. This will be live by mid-January 2024.

Historically DHS memberships have run from January-December, however as of 2024 we will be migrating to a August-July model to coincide with the financial year. As a transitional measure, we will be offering pro-rata membership for January-July whereupon you will be invited to renew for 12 months from August (with the option for rolling subscriptions). From August we will also be offering alternative membership tiers and discounted rates for individuals residing in countries which the World Bank classifies as low-income economies.

We will make further announcements when the new membership sign up page is live, but in the mean time we would like to thank all our members and community for their support for, and engagement with, the society throughout 2023.
